A Message from Our Executive Director

Welcome to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County!

For more than 40 years, Habitat CFC has brought people together to build homes, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for local families. As Executive Director, I’m incredibly proud to be part of that work and even more excited about where we’re headed next.

Our vision is to serve more families throughout Coastal Fairfield County, expand our impact in the communities we serve, and find new and innovative ways to make affordable homeownership possible. But we can’t do that alone.

Habitat has always been about people coming together. Whether you volunteer on a build site, shop or donate to our ReStore, donate a vehicle, engage your company or organization, make a financial contribution, or simply help spread the word about our mission - you are part of this work.

There are so many ways to get involved, and every one of them helps us move closer to a community where more families have the opportunity to build strength, stability, and a future through affordable homeownership.

I invite you to explore our website, learn more about what we do, and find the way that Habitat speaks to you. We have big goals for the years ahead, and I hope you’ll be part of what we build next.

Thank you for being part of our Habitat community.

Our Mission

Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County seeks to build community and improve lives by partnering with low-income families, community volunteers and donors to build decent and affordable homes in stable and welcoming neighborhoods.

Our Vision

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

About Habitat for Humanity International

Founded in Americus, Georgia, USA, Habitat for Humanity today operates around the globe and has helped more than 1 million families — representing 6.8 million people — improve their living conditions since its founding in 1976.

About Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County

Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County (Habitat CFC) is a nonprofit organization that builds affordable homes in partnership with families earning 45–80% of the area median income. We sell the homes to our partner families with 30-year interest-free mortgages based on the buyer’s ability to pay to ensure long-term affordability. Habitat CFC has a well-earned reputation for success in transforming abandoned properties into homes for taxpaying community members, building 300 homes housing over 1,220 family members since our founding in 1985.

We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing by constructing new homes and rehabilitating existing homes so Habitat CFC homeowners can achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better future for themselves and their families. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Habitat CFC also operates a ReStore in Stratford, CT, a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells quality new and used furniture, appliances, home accessories and building materials to the public at low cost. We are protecting the environment by keeping items out of landfills and all the proceeds from the store go directly to building more Habitat homes!
