Work begins on four units on Quincy Street in Fairfield
The lack of affordable housing in Fairfield County is extreme. By some estimates, the state of Connecticut is short nearly 100,000 units of affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County, in partnership with Town of Fairfield seeks to build homes and create a brighter future for low- and moderate-income families. We are pleased to have completed the first phase of our affordable housing efforts in the Town of Fairfield with the dedication of four homes on Greenfield Street in July 2025. Now our work continues on Quincy Street!
Habitat CFC broke ground on four new affordable homes on Quincy Street in the Town of Fairfield on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The homes are being developed through the continued partnership between Habitat CFC and the Town of Fairfield, which is providing the land through a no-cost, 75-year renewable ground lease.
Meet the new Habitat CFC Homeowners on Greenfield Street!
Silvia, Nelson and their children recently moved into the new home on Greenfield Street they bought from Habitat with a 30-year interest-free mortgage. They were overjoyed to partner with Habitat and finally achieve something they’ve long dreamed of—the opportunity to own a home! They finally have stability, peace, and a place to make memories.
We need your help to continue to make dreams a reality. There are a number of ways you can show your support, including: supporting our project with a monetary donation, spreading the word about the special project or volunteering to help construct the Quincy Street homes. Volunteers are essential to Habitat’s building effort. Since the project began, more than 1,000 people volunteered on Habitat CFC homes in Fairfield.
