Core Construction Volunteer Description
Purpose: More families can be serviced when there are more homes being built. It is important to build homes as fast as possible because the families live in substandard housing and it is imperative that they move into a safer home.
Qualifications
- Physical labor intensive, ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to lead groups.
- Construction experience preferred, but not required.
Time frame
- Must be able to contribute 1-2 days per week (Tuesday-Saturday) from 8:30am-3:30pm for a minimum of two months.
Site
1785 Stratford Avenue, Stratford, CT 06615 (note: volunteers will check in here and work at a variety of the homes being constructed. These homes are all located in Bridgeport and Fairfield, CT and we do not provide transportation to and from the worksites).
Supervision
- Layla Cerverizzo: Volunteer Services Coordinator, oversees volunteer program.
- Matthew Slattery: Director of Construction, assigns volunteers to work sites.
- Site Supervisors will be on site directly supervising the volunteers.
