Habitat CFC is funded by donors, grants, and proceeds from our ReStore. All contributions go toward the building of much-needed affordable housing in Coastal Fairfield County.

  4. Are Habitat houses free?

No. Habitat CFC Homeowners, purchase their homes with a 30-year no-interest mortgage. The principal payment, taxes, insurance and major utilities will not exceed 30 percent of the family’s gross income. Habitat partner families complete 150-500 hours of partnership equity depending on the number of adults in the household.

  5. How are homeowners selected?

Families interested in becoming a Habitat Homeowner first need to sign up for an information session (link to sign up for next information session on October 18th). 1. the applicant’s ability to pay back a zero-interest mortgage
    2. their willingness to partner with Habitat through partnership equity hours
