Habitat home presented to special needs family in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT – A Bridgeport family with two special needs children got a new home today, courtesy of the nonprofit organization Habitat for Humanity.

The family says that until now, they had been living in a small apartment with very few special accommodations.

Sliding barn doors are among the dozens of features specially designed to compensate for the children’s challenges.

Juan Adames and his wife bought the home at cost and will repay their loan at a 0 percent interest rate as part of the program.
