DONATE STOCK
Donating shares of stock can offer tremendous tax advantages to many donors. It is not too complicated and we are happy to help walk you through the process.
By making a gift of stock or mutual fund shares, you will receive some attractive benefits:

“I wish I could do more.” That’s the comment we often hear from volunteers, donors and supporters of Habitat CFC. Our friends are so inspired by Habitat CFC’s partner families that they want to ensure more families have the security and hope of owning a home far into the future.
What if we say, “You can do something extraordinary”? We’re talking about the opportunity you have to make a planned gift. Unlike a cash gift, a planned gift is typically made from your assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and comes to fruition after your lifetime.
It is a misconception that making a planned gift is only for the wealthy. The truth is, even people of modest means can make a big difference.
Strange as it may sound, a planned gift can be simple to do and cost very little. The most common way is to name Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County as a beneficiary in an IRA, life insurance policy, other financial account or in your will.

IN MEMORY OR IN HONOR
Every day more and more people are choosing alternative gift options for birthdays, holidays, memorials and many other occasions. You can always make a donation in honor or in memory of someone any time you donate. Please note that you will receive the tax receipt and benefit. Make a secure online donation now. Be sure to note that your gift is in honor or in memory of someone in the comments box, and include the individual(s) name and address. We will send a letter notifying either the honoree or the deceased person’s family that a gift was made in their honor. We will send an acknowledgement letter indicating that you have made a gift to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Celebrate any special occasion with an online donation. We will send a letter to honor important milestones like a graduation, wedding, retirement or new home. Be sure to note that your gift is for a special occasion in the comments box, and include the individual(s) name and address and a personal message, if you like, for us to share with the recipient. We will send a letter notifying the individual of your gift. We will send an acknowledgement letter indicating that you have made a gift to Habitat CFC for the special occasion you are celebrating.
MATCHING GIFTS
Did you know that a matching gift could double or triple your donation? Many corporations will match employee or retiree gifts. Obtain a Matching Gift Form from your Human Resources Office and send it to us it with your donation. Be sure to fill out and sign the donor section before sending in the form. You can make your gift online or mail it in. If you choose to donate online, note in the comment box that it is a matching gift and then mail your matching form to us. Some companies have an online matching gift procedure that you should follow. We appreciate your extra effort to maximize your donation to Habitat CFC!
IN-KIND DONATIONS
In-kind donations of materials, fundraising auction items, pro-bono services and vehicles, help reduce costs, raise funds and create more housing opportunities for local families in our community.
