Dollars for Building – Summer Campaign
It may be no surprise to you that the summer months are
Habitat CFC’s busiest construction season of the year. 🔨
There is something special about a group of people working in the warm weather, often outside, to create a positive impact on the lives of a family and a community. This summer, we are working on numerous projects and building homes in Bridgeport and Fairfield. Each month, 250+ volunteers from businesses and community groups, as well as committed individuals, work alongside future homeowners and Habitat CFC’s Construction team to build high-quality homes for low-income, working families in need of affordable housing.
But did you know that the summer months are also the time of year when we receive fewer donations?
Our summer donations go towards dollars for building which includes construction materials and supplies to finish building the homes that we began in the spring. If there is a financial shortage, we won’t be able maximize our summer building schedule and the help of so many compassionate volunteers. Habitat families will have to wait longer to move into their homes.
