PRESS RELEASE:
Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County dedicated new home at 30 Hastings Street in Bridgeport to homeowner family
Bridgeport, CT (October 16, 2021) – On Saturday, October 16th, supporters, volunteers, and homeowners gathered at 30 Hastings Street to celebrate the dedication of a Habitat CFC home for soon-to-be homeowner Madeline Rosario and her son. During the ceremony, Janella Diaz, who is the Habitat homeowner of the other side of the two-family Habitat CFC home, passed the keys to Rosario and her son. Guests toured the completed home, congratulated the family, and a short ceremony recognized all who helped build the home through financial support, as well as volunteer and staff time.
Carolyn Vermont, Habitat CFC CEO, thanked house sponsor Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and welcomed those gathered, saying, “I am so delighted to be here at this home dedication because this is what Habitat is all about – creating affordable housing for families.”
“Going through the Habitat homeownership program was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone,” said future homeowner Madeline Rosario. “It means so much to have everyone here today – my friends and family. Thank you!”
Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County will be dedicating its next two homes at 211 & 215 Granfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, November 13, at 11:00 am.
