Habitat CFC New Homeowners Get a Surprise

DS5_3104

Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County’s Hernandez family arrived at their new home on Friday, December 12, 2014 and received a huge surprise… interior designer Ron Marshall, Bob’s Discount Furniture, and Greenfield Hill Nursery had teamed up to fully furnish, professionally decorate and landscape the family’s new Habitat home.

Ron Marshall was driving down Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport not long ago when he noticed a lovely green house with a Habitat for Humanity sign out front asking for volunteers. He wanted to lend a hand, and construction isn’t his forte. But he knew he could help make this house a home through furnishing and decorating.

Ron contacted Bob’s Discount Furniture’s Cathy Poulin, who offered to donate the necessary furniture. And Greenfield Hill Nursery agreed to landscape the yard.
Habitat CFC thanks designer Ron Marshall, Bob’s Discount Furniture, and Greenfield Hill Nursery for all of their hard work and dedication to make this house a home for the Hernandez family. The project is a perfect example of what’s possible when communities work together so that every family can live in decent and affordable housing.
