Habitat CFC Celebrates World Habitat Day
Today is #WorldHabitatDay. Around the world, 1.6 billion people are in need of decent housing, and so today we join the United Nations and others in raising awareness, educating and mobilizing individuals and communities to take action.
Here at home we have People’s United Bank celebrating with us. People’s United Bank has 15 teams across 6 states to celebrate #WorldHabitatDay and #WorldHabitatMonth to raise awareness about the need for affordable housing.

“Youth United” Build on Maple Street
Recently our Youth United volunteers spent Saturday raising spirits as well as the walls of their sponsored house on Maple Street. Youth United have been helping build the home and have raised more than $60,000 to help sponsor the construction. “Right now they live in substandard housing, so giving them this house will really benefit them because they will be living in a safer neighborhood with better housing that helps their needs,” says Youth United Member Rishav Jauhri.
